Having realised the potential that decentralised technology has for society early in his career, I spent a lot of effort in blockchain development, including teaching it at York University and working on low level p2p infrastructure for governments and open source, and for companies funded by Creative Destruction Lab, Outlier Ventures, and Protocol Labs. However after facing disillusionment with the direction of the space, I took a break to work on more conventional applications (including a dating app).
With some chance connections in this time, I happened upon the Fediverse where I spent a brief period helping with administering cosocial.ca. This exposed me to BlueSky and the Atmosphere, which I was drawn to for offering the same impact as blockchain but without the financial baggage. I am currently working on Rabbithole, an extension that lets you track and share your web journeys.
